marathon

Know what?  I love Times New Roman font.
I also want to run in the L.A. Marathon.  I had a nice day today.  Topped it off with Jonnah's football game and a bowl of miso soup with Meredith Stahr and Margaret Strong.  It was fun joking about our 3 boys' math teacher and the hell they are giving her.  I love Mrs. Thorndike the math teacher. We go waaay back.

I wish I had a digital camera and the know how to make a cool blog like Megan Riley's.

Ok here are the things I have been doing lately.  I have been recruiting students for my tutoring job/company of which I am in charge. I have decided to help Leonarda study and pass her GED in Spanish.  I am very excited about that.  Right now I'm getting ready to go to the courthouse and listen to the PO/Parole officers talk about some new techniques they are using.  No, I am not in trouble.  I am a volunteer for the Victim's Assistance Program with the District Attorney's office.

Betcha didn't know that if ya live to be 80 yrs old .....

that it would be 960 months.  That's what my son Jeremy told me today.  He is now 21 yrs. old.  So, what have I done with the 480 or so months that I have lived so far?  I love this concept so much.  As we were driving to buy a small 2person tent for his weekend trip he brought this up to me.  We were talking about how it would look physically to see those months stacked up as a constant reminder.  I love Jeremy.  I know his time here at home is coming to an end.  That makes me sad and yet pleased that he is such a wonderful person.

Major headache after church

I didn't even see it coming.  Sacrament Mtg was good. Sunday School was good.  Relief Society was good.  During RS I thought I was getting a headache but right after is when it full on started.  Yeah, that is when it started.  Let's see first the boys and husband wanted to ask me 5,000 questions about my every movement and when we were leaving.  I needed to fill out forms for camp and turn in forms and provide scholarship forms and pay for camp all at the same time as I was answering the 5,000 questions.  No wonder I had a HUGE headache and only wanted to listen to DavidCook  songs.  Is that called needing to escape?

Today is Tuesday

Well the boys are at school today.  I am now here at home.  At 11am I am taking Beverly Roth to run some errands.  It surprises me every year around this time when she calls me and asks me for help.  It makes me feel like a celebrity that she thinks of me.  It is like we have this ongoing unstated agreement that around Christmas I will drive her around town for awhile to run some specific Christmas related errands.  She always gives our family fudge an cookies.  She doesn't have much but every single year for the past 10 yrs this transaction has gone on.  She makes the best fudge.  She really does.  Maybe I will try to take a picture of her today and sneak it on here for posterity.

So it hasn't been too bad of a day after all...

As the day has gone on I have realized that it isn't as bad as it seems.  I have precious teenage boys here in my home who sometimes get on my nerves but ya know what?  They love home.  They do well in school.  They are kind and strive to better everyday.  They are conscious of right from wrong.  They are not out running around town looking for something better.  Why?  I will tell you why.  They have at home what they need.  So, I guess when they do leave and all I should be happy that I was lucky enough to be their guide through their time leading up to adulthood.  Thank you Heavenly Father for answering my prayer from years ago asking for someone to share the love I felt in my heart with someone.  Guess ya better be careful what ya pray for.  xo
